Faster mailing so that images download while recipients view the message by embedding commands into images to download while recipients are viewing their messages.

It is a popular method used by many emailers, because formatted HTML emails can be sent-out much faster (smaller file).

The advantage - Able to send email messages much faster.

Disadvantages:
If recipients view their messages off-line, they won't be able to see any of your photos or images.

When recipients closed their email program and later reopen and view the message off-line, they won't be able to see any images.

If your ISP charges you by the amount of bandwidth used, additional bandwidth will be incurred because of images being downloaded from your site.

Unless your message are for short-time consumption and if you don't intend to store those images in files, your recipients won't be able to see the images again whey they decide to view the message at a later date.

How to embed command into images?
To download while recipients are viewing their message.

The first step is to create a file, folder, webpage or site in your web server to store your images. Give a date or name to each file, folder, webpage, etc. so that you will know which folder is for which email message.

Next step is to create your HTML email message or newsletter as usual with all your images or photos, and then embed the commands for each image to be downloaded from your website server webpage, folder, etc.

This is how it is done, what ever HTML program you are using to composer your HTML email message (MS Front Page, Netscape Composer, Dream Weaver, 1st Page etc.)

Click on the >image >properties >picture source and enter your command, (below example) where the image is stored.

After embedding the command you will get to see this>>

(and need to be on-line before you can see the image).

Examples:

1	is the original image
2	image with the embedded command, you can see it if your are on-line... but if you go off-line...
3	you will see a box with X (when off-line)
4	if you have alternate text for the image (when off-line)

It is recommended to have an alternative representation to any photos or images, so that when your message is viewed off-line a text description (see image four) can be seen instead of just an empty box with an X (image three).

Tips: Use small images or slice them for faster downloading.

Testing: After you have embedded the command, it is quite simple to test if it is working. Start-up your email client, for example: Outlook Express, copy and paste the image with the embedded command and email it back to your self.

Open a new browser window automatically when recipient view the message. By embedding (digram-1) this code into your HTML email, to auto open a specified browser window size without displaying the address bar.

Embed this code between the <body> Tag and replace mywebsitezzz.com with your own site and you can change the browser window size as well.

How prevent displaying any "linked site"
on the browser "Status bar" when recipients move their mouse over any hyperlink in your HTML email message?

Auto open a new browser window to display your website when recipient view message and when mouse is move over any hyperlink in the HTML message, it won't show any links in the browser "Status Bar".

Now-a-days, email recipients are fully aware that:

HTML email is not as secure as plain-text because when it is viewed or preview, messages containing embedded commands will auto "pop-up" annoying Ads, connect their browser to sites without choice, activate tracking scripts, codes, cookies, viruses and all kinds of embedded web bugs and gadgets.

Web bugs are small graphic images inserted into web pages, emails and HTML or web documents to allow companies to gather information about you without your knowledge.

Recipients retaliate by viewing emails off-line and have the pleasure of knowing that they can't be tracked or download all embedded gadgets and images.

Outlook Express users don't even need to disconnect their always-on Internet connection; they simple double click on the icon at the taskbar to be off-line.
